About TheresMac
What is TheresMac?
TheresMac is an Apple product comparison and buying-guide website. We bring retailer offers together so shoppers can compare the exact model, configuration, condition, price, and retailer before deciding whether to buy now or save a product for later.
Is TheresMac free to use?
Yes. Browsing product comparisons and using TheresMac is free. TheresMac may earn a commission when a shopper makes a qualifying purchase through certain retailer links, at no additional cost to the shopper.
Prices and availability
How often does TheresMac update prices?
TheresMac checks retailer offers on a recurring schedule. Refresh timing can vary by retailer, product, and data source. Where a checked-at time is available, we show it with the offer. Because retailer prices and stock can change between checks, shoppers should confirm the final price and availability on the retailer’s website before purchasing.
Why can a retailer’s price differ from the price shown on TheresMac?
Retailers can change prices, stock, shipping charges, membership requirements, seller availability, and promotions at any time. A listed offer may also apply to a specific configuration or condition. The retailer’s checkout page is the final source for the price and purchase terms.
Does TheresMac guarantee that an item is in stock?
No. TheresMac reports the latest availability received or checked for an offer, but stock can change quickly. Always confirm availability with the retailer before completing a purchase.
Does TheresMac show the lowest price?
TheresMac compares the offers available in its current retailer data. It may not include every seller or promotion. New, refurbished, open-box, and used offers are labeled separately so a lower used price is not presented as the best new-product price.
What does “Check current price on Amazon” mean?
It means TheresMac does not have a compliant current Amazon price to display for that offer. Selecting the link lets the shopper verify the current price and availability directly on Amazon.
Current, upcoming, and refurbished products
Does TheresMac include upcoming Apple products?
TheresMac may create a product record before a product is widely available when there is sufficient verified information to help shoppers follow the category. Upcoming products are labeled by status and are not presented as available for purchase unless a real retailer offer exists.
How does TheresMac handle rumors and unreleased product information?
Unconfirmed reports are not presented as official product facts. A product’s name, specifications, price, and release timing are marked as unconfirmed unless supported by Apple or another clearly cited primary source. Rumored specifications never populate retailer-comparison fields as if they were confirmed.
What product statuses should shoppers see?
TheresMac uses one of these visible statuses:
- Rumored: based on unconfirmed reporting; not an official Apple product.
- Announced: officially announced but not yet available.
- Preorder: available to order before general availability.
- Available: currently released, with or without an in-stock offer.
- Discontinued: no longer sold as a current model by Apple.
The status is generated from validated data, not inferred from the product name or chip generation.
Does TheresMac compare refurbished, open-box, and used products?
Yes, when those offers are available in the retailer data. Condition is clearly labeled. New, Apple Certified Refurbished, retailer-refurbished, open-box, and used products can have different warranties, return policies, sellers, and risk levels, so they are not merged into one unlabeled offer.
How are release dates and specifications verified?
Release dates and specifications come from validated product fields supported by primary sources such as Apple product pages, newsroom announcements, or technical specifications. If a fact is not confirmed, the page omits it or labels it as unconfirmed rather than generate a guess.
Watchlists and accounts
What does the TheresMac watchlist do?
The watchlist lets a signed-in shopper save an exact Apple product or configuration and return to compare its current offers later. Saving a product does not hide or block retailer links.
Do I need an account to use TheresMac?
No account is required to browse product comparisons or open retailer links. Google sign-in is required to save and manage a personal watchlist.
Does saving a product create an instant price alert?
No. The watchlist is a saved-product list. TheresMac may offer a separate optional deal digest, but the site does not promise an instant retailer-price alert, target-price threshold alert, or Amazon price notification.
Retailers and affiliate relationships
Which retailers does TheresMac compare?
TheresMac compares offers from major retailers and marketplaces, including Apple, Amazon, Best Buy, B&H Photo, Walmart, Target, Costco, eBay, and others when data is available. The active retailer list can change over time.
Does TheresMac earn money from retailer links?
Sometimes. TheresMac participates in affiliate programs and may earn a commission from qualifying purchases made through certain links, at no additional cost to the shopper. The current disclosure identifies Amazon Associates and the eBay Partner Network as active affiliate relationships.
Is B&H Photo an affiliate partner?
The current TheresMac affiliate disclosure lists B&H Photo as a retailer included for comparison without an active affiliate relationship. If that relationship changes, the affiliate-relationship source of truth, the disclosure, and this answer are updated in the same release.
Do affiliate commissions affect which deal ranks first?
No. Offer ranking uses documented comparison factors such as exact configuration, condition, price, availability, and applicable buying context, not whether TheresMac earns a commission. Affiliate and non-affiliate retailers remain eligible for comparison.
What is the Amazon affiliate disclosure?
TheresMac participates in Amazon Associates. Pages containing Amazon affiliate links display the required disclosure prominently: “As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.” See the full Affiliate Disclosure for more information.
Accuracy, corrections, and contact
What should I check before buying?
Confirm the exact model and configuration, condition, seller, warranty, return policy, shipping cost, membership requirement, final price, and stock status on the retailer’s website. These details can change after TheresMac last checked an offer.
How can I report incorrect product or price information?
Use the TheresMac contact page to report the page URL, product, retailer, and issue. Product-fact corrections and stale-offer reports are reviewable without requiring a purchase.
Where can I read the full affiliate policy?
Read the complete TheresMac Affiliate Disclosure.
