Rendering, parallel compilation and large local models are plausible reasons to pay for the Pro. Browser tabs, email and ordinary documents rarely justify it on chip specifications alone. Thunderbolt speeds are measured in gigabits per second (Gb/s), not gigabytes (GB/s). Both minis support up to three displays, but only M4 Pro supports three 6K displays together. Apple silicon Macs do not support external GPUs.
